Andy Lapthorne is a member of the Tennis Foundation’s Wheelchair Tennis Performance Programme and is a medal hopeful for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
Andy took up the sport in 2005 after being asked to try it out at a wheelchair sports camp. His natural talent for the game was quickly spotted by coaches from the Tennis Foundation and he was selected to begin training at a more elite level.
In 2010 Andy won the quad singles and doubles tournament at the Melbourne Open and went on to win the Camozzi Doubles Masters in Italy later that year.

In 2011 he won his first Grand Slam title in the quad doubles tournament at the Australian Open with partner Peter Norfolk – the pair subsequently became the no.1 doubles team in the world.
Andy’s sporting talent and personality has seen him a popular choice for promotional and personal appearance events. Andy is also currently looking for sponsors to help him support him ambitions in wheelchair tennis. For more information contact John Print – info@sprint.gb.com
